So I've been slacking due to the incredibly nice weather that I've been enjoying in Winnipeg. We are now in C17 and as per usually there are some great products available.  First, I want to remind people of my last post where I introduced the Every Penny Counts fundraising campaign in support of breast cancer. Well it has officially launched with C17 so start rolling you pennies for a great cause! Avon's goal is to raise 125 million pennies in support of Willow Breast Cancer Support Canada. So I picked up the Violet Voltage as a demo because I thought the color was stunning. Everybody who knows me knows the more colorful the eyeshadow the more likely Christy is to buy it and I was on the market for a new purple shade. You can use the shadow wet or dry but if you want the Mega Impact as the name states you have to use it  wet. I will always be honest with my customers and will not try and sell you something that not even I would buy. While I liked the final look that it produced it wasn't my favorite product. It took a lot of layers to get the mega impact look like in the brochure. One tip I will give is I found it better to use the cheap brush in the compact then one of my eyeshadow brushes because I was able to pick up more product with it. Overall I would probably give the product a 3/5 and it is a really good deal for $4.99.

So when you think Avon you don't necessarily think Shampoo and Conditioner but I'm here to tell you it's time to think differently. I purchased the Frizz control line on special because I was due for a change and the price was right. See I have an Auntie who's a Hairdresser and she taught me at a young age to always change up your hair products so essentially your hair doesn't get used to the same products and this leads to healthy hair. I have to say I was impressed advanced techniques right from the get go. First I can only speak of the Frizz Control lie as that's the only one I've tried so far. The smell is really nice and not too overbearing which is important to me (I always smell my shampoo before buying it) and the way the product feels in your hair is amazing. I would compare these hair products more to salon brand than your drug store discount brand anyway. I did also notice that it cut down on my frizzies.

Summer is Finally Here!

Hi Everyone,
So far I've been getting a lot of good feed back on my new blog! A few people asked "I really like your blog but I don't have a Gmail Account or a Facebook Account in order to like your page so how exactly can I support you?". My answer is simple, if you like it pass the blog address around by email to friends you think might enjoy it and that in itself is very supportive. I was first introduced to the many uses of SSS Bath Oil by a fellow customer who was looking to buy it to wash her plastic shower curtain. I initially thought I misunderstood but then I do what I do best... I Googled it and discovered that it actually has 100 uses. I'm all about the sunscreen and to hear that there's a sunscreen that can reduce signs of aging and proctect me from the sun I'm all for it. It offers broad-spectrum UVA/UVB, it's lightweight and oil free (which for me is important for the face as I don't want to breakout!) and also water-resistant so you can enjoy those beach days. I personally haven't tried these products but when the it has Avon Anew attached to the product you can expect the highest quality.

So my Avon Order came like clock work Thursday evening and it was like Christmas all over again. I love looking at my What's New magazine to see what's coming in future brochures and ordering my demos. This order I preordered the Tortilla Warmer and Tortilla Shell Baking Bowls for my Mom. She recently got a tortilla press to make her own homemade tortillas so I thought these two items would compliment her future Mexican Fiestas! First off, they were a hit with my Mom and now we both can't wait to use them! The Tortilla Warmer was absolutely beautiful, heavy and well made and only costs $19.99 in the C14 Brochure. We also found out this can also be used for heating and serving Pancakes and flat breads which proves we really did get a good deal.  As for the Baking Bowls you get 2 for $14.99 and they come with easy to follow directions. I will keep you posted after we actually get to try them out

On the recommendation of one of my customers I went and ahead and ordered one of Avon's True Color Eyeshadow Quads and I wasn't disappointed. Anybody who knows me well knows that my eyes are my favorite feature to play up. Often you can see me wearing anywhere from bold shades of teal to a subtle gold shimmer with lots of black mascara. I'm pretty Plain Jane with rest of my make up but I'm always experimenting with my eyes. To me the best or highest quality eyeshadows are the ones that have lots of pigment and that don't require putting 20 layers on before you can see a hint of color. Avon's Quads meet my criteria but what's even better is the price... Cheap even at full price! For $9.99 you get four complimentary colors in 1 quad compact. You need very little eyeshadow to get a very dramatic look and what more exciting is there is two new bold Quads on the way in C15 so stay tuned!

I bought a demo of this product a couple of weeks ago and I have to say I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!! All my life people have known me as the ghostly white girl and often I'm asked if I'm feeling alright just because I'm that pale. As a breast cancer survivor sitting out on the deck tanning or going to the local tanning salon are not feasible options for me as they are cancer causing agents. I got cancer once and I don't plan on getting it again. I have tried various self tanners throughout the years and this one is my favorite. No streaks for the first time ever and it even has an SPF of 15 to protect me from the real sun! The product states to apply daily as a body moisturizer and watch your skin darken but I have changed this slightly. First I exfoliate just with some body wash and a poof in the shower as this is an important step because if you have dry patches of skin it will show with the GOT TO GLOW and you will look blotchy. I only apply the lotion every second day as I was getting too dark too fast doing it everyday. This also makes the bottle last a lot longer!

I'm a women of many faces and often get bored with certain looks, fragrances and I even change my hair every 4 months! This perfume is perfect for me as not only are the great scents but they are at a great price! So I know there is a lot of closet Royal Fans in the house and I know a lot of us were there glued to our TVs to watch the Royal Wedding this year and now you can own your very own replica of the engagement ring! I included this as there is a bit of princess in all of us and we all like to dream every once in a while! When I first started shopping with Avon I always stayed clear of the jewelry as I always thought that for the price they are selling it for it could never  be good quality. I'm here to tell you I was DEAD WRONG! The brochures do the jewelry no justice and the pieces are absolutely more beautiful in person and the quality is above and beyond.
